This prestigious title, awarded since 2019, makes Gdańsk the second Polish city to receive the honor, following Kraków’s inaugural recognition. The official handover ceremony took place at the FITUR tourism fair in Madrid, where Deputy Mayor Emilia Lodzińska accepted the symbolic insignia from Madrid’s representatives as the Spanish capital concluded its tenure.
