Young Ambassadors explore support available from the meetings industry
On 18 September 2026, a meeting with the programme laureates was held at the Lublin Conference Centre. Participants learned about the forms of support available for attracting and organising international events, as well as opportunities to work with local convention bureaux and representatives of Poland’s meetings industry.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for direct exchange between laureates representing different universities, academic disciplines and organisations.

This part of the programme is particularly important in developing future congress bids. Attracting an international event often begins with the involvement of an individual researcher, doctor, expert or organisation representative who is active within an international professional or academic community and can become the local initiator of a Polish bid.
Academia and the meetings industry working together
The pilot edition of the programme created an opportunity for young representatives of the academic community to establish direct contact with experts specialising in attracting and servicing international congresses.
For the laureates, this means gaining a better understanding of destination selection processes, the preparation of congress bids and the support available from Poland Convention Bureau, city and regional convention bureaux, PCOs and other organisations operating within the meetings industry.
From a destination perspective, cooperation with young researchers also makes it possible to identify, at an earlier stage, people who are active in international associations and academic networks and who may become involved in future efforts to bring conferences and congresses to Poland.
Next edition of the programme planned for 2027
The first edition confirmed interest among younger members of the academic community in taking a more active role in attracting international events. The programme will therefore continue, with the next recruitment round for the “Young Polish Congress Ambassador” programme planned for 2027.
The Young Polish Congress Ambassador programme is run by the Stowarzyszenie Konferencje i Kongresy w Polsce in cooperation with the Poland Convention Bureau of the Polish Tourism Organisation.
