The first workshop of the new Poland Convention Bureau for the project Destination Poland Green Academy took place at the Qubus Hotel Bydgoszcz. The meeting was hosted by Bydgoszcz and brought together representatives of the tourism and MICE industries from Bydgoszcz, Toruń and surrounding towns.
During four hours of intensive sessions, participants explored key issues related to good practice in incentive travel. The workshop was designed and delivered by SITE Poland experts Grażyna Grot-Duziak and Beata Koziarska, based on the “Manifesto of Good Practice in Incentive Travel”, first presented at this year’s Responsible Incentive Travel Day conference.
The programme also included presentations of sustainable solutions from Bydgoszcz and Toruń, as well as a discussion of the results of a participant survey. As many as 65% of respondents reported applying sustainable practices in their operations, confirming the market’s growing maturity in this area.

The workshop’s conclusions clearly show that sustainable meetings and events are not a passing trend, but a necessity and a standard the modern MICE industry is striving towards. Destination Poland Green Academy provides a platform for knowledge exchange and for strengthening competencies in designing responsible, sustainable events.
The project will continue in other cities. The next workshop is scheduled to take place in Kielce, in cooperation with the Świętokrzyskie Convention Bureau.
