On 18–19 February 2026, the Polish Tourism Organisation, represented by its Office in Stockholm (ZOPOT Stockholm) and the Poland Convention Bureau, participated in Möten & Event in Stockholm. The exhibition is one of the most significant meetings and events industry gatherings in Scandinavia, held at the Kistamässan Exhibition and Congress Centre. It serves as a key platform for engagement with event agencies, corporate clients, associations and hosted buyers responsible for the organisation of conferences, congresses and incentive travel programmes.
Poland’s presence at the fair was aimed at strengthening the country’s recognition as a modern, competitive and sustainable MICE destination within the Scandinavian market. As part of the joint national stand, the delegation promoted Poland’s robust infrastructure, the diversity of its conference and congress venues, and the proven expertise of Polish partners in delivering events of international scale.
“We are jointly present at the Polish national stand at the largest MICE industry trade fair in Sweden. Möten & Event in Stockholm brings together stakeholders involved in business travel and conference organisation. Poland is one of two international destinations exhibiting its offer in this field. We are accompanied by representatives of Szczecin, the host city of this year’s GDS-Forum & Impact Day, and we hope this will send a strong signal to Swedish clients and contribute to an increased number of conferences and business visits to Poland,” said Małgorzata Hudyma, Director of the Polish Tourism Organisation Office in Stockholm.

Szczecin in Stockholm
Particular emphasis was placed on communicating Poland’s activities in the field of sustainability within the meetings industry, including the promotion of GDS-Forum & Impact Day 2026, which will be hosted in Poland for the first time in its history. Scheduled to take place in Szczecin on 16–18 June 2026, the event represents a significant step in reinforcing Poland’s position within the international dialogue on the responsible transformation of the MICE sector.
Visual materials and promotional content related to GDS-Forum & Impact Day attracted considerable interest from visitors to the national stand, including representatives of cities actively engaged in the GDS-Index certification process.
Among the guests was Jenny Bertling, responsible for the GDS-Index for the City of Stockholm. During discussions with representatives of Szczecin, she underlined the importance of international cooperation in the field of sustainable events and expressed interest in participating in the June forum in Poland.
The fair was also attended by the Szczecin Convention Bureau, operating within the structure of Żegluga Szczecińska Turystyka Wydarzenia, marking its debut at Möten & Event on the Swedish market.
“As the Szczecin Convention Bureau, we are attending Möten & Event in Stockholm for the first time. We are pleased to have the opportunity to present the offer of our city and region, and more broadly, Poland, as an attractive destination for both the leisure segment and business tourism. For us, it is also an opportunity to gain know-how and build relationships with representatives of Stockholm and other Swedish regions, which are highly advanced in the field of sustainability and the delivery of sustainable events,” said Leopold Korytkowski, Director for Tourism and Events at Żegluga Szczecińska Turystyka Wydarzenia.
An additional promotional element was a competition initiative organised by the Polish Tourism Organisation Foreign Office in Stockholm. Trade fair participants were invited to enter a prize draw offering a stay in Szczecin, including accommodation, a visit to Fabryka Wody and a guided city tour.

Möten & Event summary
According to official figures provided by the organiser, this year’s edition of Möten & Event brought together more than 150 exhibitors and over 3,000 visitors, confirming the event’s strong position as a key platform integrating the Swedish meetings sector. The participation of Polish exhibitors formed part of a consistently implemented strategy focused on priority markets and on building relationships with partners interested in hosting events in Poland.
“The Polish stand attracted considerable interest from visitors. Many interlocutors highlighted that they had already travelled to Poland, most frequently to Sopot and Gdańsk, as well as to Kraków and Warsaw. Importantly, almost all feedback regarding their stays in our country was highly positive. This direct confirmation of the recognition and strong reputation of Polish destinations on the Swedish market represents an important signal for our continued promotional activities within the business tourism segment,” said Jarosław Marciuk, Chief Marketing Specialist at the Polish Tourism Organisation – Poland Convention Bureau.
Activity in the Scandinavian market forms part of the long-term strategy of the Poland Convention Bureau, aimed at strengthening Poland’s image as a professional and reliable partner in the organisation of international meetings and business events.
