On 4 September, the first post-holiday meeting of the incentive travel sector, organised by SITE Poland, took place in Warsaw. The event brought together representatives of the MICE industry and became an opportunity to exchange experiences, present new initiatives, and discuss the future of the sector. The Poland Convention Bureau of the Polish Tourism Organisation partnered in the meeting, presenting its original educational project, Destination Poland Green Academy. The event also featured the launch of the 16th edition of the report “The Meetings and Events Industry in Poland”.

The meeting was held at Pa Ta Tha restaurant in Warsaw’s Powiśle district, providing an inspiring space for both business discussions and informal networking. SITE Poland and the Poland Convention Bureau express their gratitude to all participants for their active involvement and contribution to the development of the industry.

Manifesto of Sustainable Development in Incentive Travel

The first highlight of the programme was the presentation of the Manifesto of Sustainable Development in Incentive Travel, a document prepared by SITE Poland members: Grażyna Grot-Duziak, Dorota Cholewa, Emilia Kubik, Beata Koziarska, and Grażyna Łukaszyk.

The Manifesto, a result of two editions of the Responsible Incentive Travel Day conference, is a compendium of best practices and guidelines for professionals designing and delivering incentive trips.

The document emphasises the importance of education, social responsibility, and environmental protection in the planning of incentive events. Its presentation marks a significant step towards a responsible approach to incentive travel and serves as an invitation to continued collaboration for the sustainable growth of the MICE sector.

“The Manifesto of Sustainable Incentive Travel that we have prepared within SITE Poland proves that the industry both wants and is able to act responsibly. As incentive travel organisers, we have been gradually implementing these principles for years and are ambassadors of these ideas. The ten pillars and recommendations set out in the document are highly universal – they can inspire agencies, hotels, and local tourist organisations involved in destination marketing. That is why I am delighted that, together with the Poland Convention Bureau of the Polish Tourism Organisation, we are launching the Destination Poland Green Academy project. This initiative will bring practical workshops to six Polish cities, engaging the local tourism sector to show how to apply these principles in everyday work and how to create a more conscious and sustainable offer,” said **Beata Koziarska, Vice-President of SITE Poland, co-author of the Manifesto, Managing Director & CEO of EMOVEO GROUP, co-author and trainer within the PCB POT Destination Poland Green Academy project.

This project represents an important step towards raising environmental awareness among MICE professionals, while fostering innovative solutions and enhancing Poland’s competitiveness as a responsible tourism destination.

“We would like to thank all representatives of city and regional convention bureaux who joined yesterday’s meetings in Warsaw. September is an extremely busy month, so we focused on efficiency. In just one day we managed to organise training, two premieres, consultations on the ministerial MICE sub-strategy, and a working meeting of PCB and CVBs at the headquarters of the Polish Tourism Organisation,” said Aneta Książek, Head of the Poland Convention Bureau.
