PTO PCB Recommendations for 2025-2026 Presented

On January 22nd, 2025, the Copernicus Science Centre hosted one of the key events in the calendar of the Polish Tourism Organisation – Poland Convention Bureau (PTO PCB). During the meeting, recommendations were ceremoniously presented to Professional Congress Organisers (PCOs), Professional Incentive Travel Organisers (ITCs), and municipal and regional Convention Bureaux for the years 2025-2026. The second part of the meeting featured a special session titled “Eventprofs Creators Lab,” with experts from IMEX Group – organisers of major industry trade fairs such as IMEX Frankfurt and IMEX America – invited to speak.

Recommendations for 2025-2026

The Polish Tourism Organisation honoured 21 business entities and 9 municipal and regional convention bureaux as part of its recommendation programme for convention bureaux, professional congress organisers, and incentive travel organisers.

For over 20 years, the Polish Tourism Organisation has been implementing recommendation programmes that play an important role in attracting international events to Poland. Following the successful verification of documents submitted to the programme, certificates for 2025-2026 were awarded to 21 business entities (some in dual categories) and 9 convention bureaux. Among the recipients were four new entities: Dream Events (Katowice), Work Group (Wrocław), Bydgoszcz Convention Bureau and Silesia Convention Bureau.

The President of PTO, Rafał Szmytke, stressed the importance of this programme in his address: “We are very happy that the recommended entities show numerous activities that prove their professionalism, such as certificates and membership in international associations or organisations, industry awards, as well as efforts undertaken in the spirit of sustainable development.”

“PTO-recommended convention bureaux and business entities specialising in the organisation of events can count on the support of Poland Convention Bureau PTO when it comes to participation in fairs, as well as training sessions and industry events in Poland and abroad. I would like to congratulate all the honorees and wish them great success in attracting meetings and events to Poland. At the same time, I would like to thank the Copernicus Science Centre for supporting and co-creating today’s interactive Eventprofs Creators Lab,” added President Szmytke.

Plans for 2025

After the ceremony, participants were welcomed by Dr. Ilona Iłowiecka-Tańska, Programme Director for Innovation at the Copernicus Science Centre. In her speech, she emphasised the importance of cooperation between the tourism sector and scientific and cultural institutions.

Next, Aneta Książek, head of the Poland Convention Bureau PTO, presented plans and initiatives for the year 2025. Among the most important activities she mentioned support programmes aimed at promoting the Polish meetings industry on international markets. She also stressed the key role of PCB in building the image of Poland as an attractive business destination, which is an integral part of the strategy of the Polish Tourism Organisation.

One of the most significant initiatives for 2025 will be the reactivation of the National Support Programme for the Meeting Industry. During the event at the Copernicus Science Centre, an agreement was signed by representatives of PTO PCB, PLL LOT, and the Polish Conferences and Congresses Association (SKKP). The main objectives of the programme, which aims to support the industry in attracting international congresses and conferences, were also presented to participants.

A surprise during the event was the premiere of the song “Let’s Talk Business” in a gospel arrangement, combining art with sensory marketing in an innovative way. The piece was created in collaboration with students from the Vistula University Academic Choir, led by Agnieszka Zińczuk.

The amateur ensemble, which has been active at the Vistula University in Warsaw for 5 years now, is the most multicultural choir in Poland – its members include singers from over 20 countries, mainly from Eastern Europe, Asia and Africa. The choir draws inspiration from the diversity of the ensemble, singing mainly pop and gospel pieces as well as songs from musicals, but their repertoire also includes folk and classical music.

Written three years ago, the song “Let’s Talk Business”was originally created in a rock style by Brian Allan. A year later, it was performed by the Zakopane artist Basia Giewont in a new interpretation. Now the time had come for the next generation – students from Poland and abroad – who presented this unique gospel arrangement. The song “Let’s Talk Business” is performed during Musical Mornings at the biggest industry events. It was created with aims to promote Poland as a prime destination for the meetings industry, leveraging music’s emotional power to build a positive image of the country.

Eventprofs Creators Lab – a Space for Innovation and Creativity

The second part of the event was dedicated to workshops, presentations, and networking under the theme Eventprofs Creators Lab”. The main presentation was led by IMEX Group experts: Suzanne Medcalf Mulligan (Head of Engagement) and Sophie Pink (Digital & Social Media Manager). They presented global trends shaping the meetings industry, sharing their experiences from the perspective of the organisers of some of the largest fairs in the industry (IMEX in Frankfurt and IMEX America in Las Vegas).

The speakers emphasised the role of building engaged communities around events, focusing on relationships and collaboration. Particular attention was Instagram’s role in IMEX’s marketing strategy, highlighting its use in event promotion, brand building, and international audience engagement. The speakers also pointed to the importance of authenticity and visual storytelling in attracting participants and partners from around the world and mentioned the unique hashtags #IMEXcited and #IMEXhausted.

The second part of Eventprofs Creators Lab included presentations by Polish experts. Jarosław Marciuk (PCB PTO) discussed “The Instagramisation of Promotional Content for the Meetings Industry”, while Mariusz Kosowski (Smart Photo Lab) highlighted the role of emotions in marketing campaigns, showing how their conscious use can capture audiences’ attention and foster lasting engagement.

The practical part of the event included exploring the interactive exhibitions of the Copernicus Science Centre, allowing participants to experience science through play. An additional highlight was the unique interaction with the humanoid robot AMECA, which illustrated how technology can stimulate creativity and innovation in the organisation of events.
